Srinagar, December 31 (KNO): Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday said that a struggle nurtured by the sacred blood of martyrs like Shaheed-I-Danish cannot be suppressed by any ‘tyranny or oppression’. “Shaheed-I-Daanish Professor Abdul Ahmad Wani was an exceptional personality who will always be remembered for his exemplary wisdom and unparallel sacrifices,” Malik said as per a statement issued to KNO. He also recalled the services and sacrifices of legendary Shaheed-I-Daanish Professor Abdul Ahmad Wani. A memorial meeting was held at JKLF head office in Srinagar today to remember and recall the services, struggle and sacrifices of legendry professor Abdul Ahmad Wani who embraced martyrdom on 31st December 1993. The meeting which was attended by various JKLF leaders and activists was chaired by JKLF chairman who along with others addressed the meeting. Various JKLF leaders addressed the meeting and paid tributes to Shaheed-I-Danish. Meanwhile, Malik while recalling the struggle and sacrifices of legendary ideologue has said that people like Professor Abdul Ahad Wani actually add to the glory of nations. “Intellectuals and thinkers like Professor Abdul Ahad Wani are like jewel in the crown of nations and whenever history of Kashmir will be written Wani’s name will be remembered with great honor and dignity,” he said. He said that professor was a great teacher, a prolific jurist, an innovative lawyer, a human rights champion, an ideologue, a diplomat and a social reformer who led Kashmiri nation on all these fronts and left his indelible impressions everywhere. Malik said that Professor fought his nation’s case on diplomatic front too and surprised everyone with his unparallel wisdom, vision and intellect. “Such was his wisdom and power to put his nation’s case before the international leaders that secretary of state of America after meeting him had to admit about the abilities of Professor Wani,” he added. JKLF chairman said that best way to remember the sacrifices of these great martyrs is to keep the flame of freedom struggle shining and its flag flying high and keep on struggling for the righteous cause against all odds. He said that “as a living nation, we will have to stand firm in hard conditions and keep on resisting the enemies of freedom with valor and courage.” Condemning the recent act of ‘desecration’ of Historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar by some people, Malik said that places of worship (Masajid) and pulpits are signs of Allah and revered seats of religion and “we as Muslims cannot allow anyone to dishonor these for his or her perceptions.” “Every saner person of our society has and will always stand against such condemnable acts,” he said, adding that “Jamia Masjid is sacred place for us and we as a nation will not allow anyone to violate its sanctity.”(KNO)
